The area around us is filled with fantastic activities! You can enjoy birdwatching, take peaceful village walks, embark on thrilling motorcycle tours, or go cycling through the beautiful landscapes. Nothing connects you to the essence of the Ugandan countryside quite like a stay in the heart of Busu village, right in the picturesque Iganga District. We’re located in the eastern part of Uganda, just about a 45-minute drive from Jinja City and a three-hour drive from Kampala. Our small family-run farm is proud to offer a variety of fresh and delicious produce. At Stonehouse Farm, we’re excited to be building a sustainable eco-village along with a thriving permaculture and livestock farm. Our goal is to inspire the people of Busu village to embrace a sustainable lifestyle by cultivating organic fruits and vegetables and caring for animals within our community. We’re dedicated to rediscovering and preserving ancient indigenous wisdom that promotes self-sustainability in our area. This involves reintroducing practices like natural building, organic farming, herbal medicine, animal care, food processing, cooking, as well as various arts and traditional crafts that emphasize independence and self-reliance. At Stonehouse FarmStay, we’re proud to offer full-board accommodations featuring fresh produce sourced straight from our community. Guests will have the chance to get hands-on with the host family, learning the delightful art of Ugandan and Busoga cuisine during cooking sessions, or they can roll up their sleeves and join us in the fields for some engaging farm experiences!
Our farm is a modest, traditional homestead family operation in Uganda. We are returning to the fundamentals of farming with dairy cows, goats, and chickens.
