About our mixed farm in Iganga-Uganda
Stone house Farm is nestled in Busu village in Iganda District in Easten Uganda, 45 minutes from Jinja and 15 minutes from Iganga town.
Stone house Organic Farm and Eco-lodge is an internationally recognized example of sustainable land management through permaculture design and agro-ecology.
Our sustainable farm and learning center are based on Agro-ecology and Permaculture principles. The 1 hectare property is an oasis of food forests, extensive vegetable gardens, pasture, agroforestry areas, models of alternative energy, and rotational animal rearing areas.
Over one hundred crops, pants and flowers are can be found on the farm, and the farm is home to animals of different shapes, and personalities. Our residents include pigs, rabbits, chickens, ducks, turkeys, gunueafowls, geese, dog, composting worms and–of course–humans.
We at the moment have small capacity for residents to accommodate up to 10 people in our house, a grass thatched house and cottage. we can accomodate upto 20 people on a day trip basis. If you want to visit for coffee or traditional lunch we would need prior booking.

Ecotourism
Ecotourism is an important part of life at Stone house farm The farm has accommodation for up to 10 people curious about how to relate to life in Busu village in a sustainable and rejuvenating way. The cottages, work structures, and main house are all primarily constructed from local materials. Cottages have from 1 to 2 beds, as well as ecologically designed outdoor offgrid bathrooms with pit latrine toilets. We host a wide range of visitors, including students, short and long term volunteers (both national and foreign), tourists, volunteer groups, and permaculture students. We’ve designed the farm in such a way that humans can work with nature rather than against it, and all who visit our village have the unique opportunity to feel part of a very intricate and special Ugandan rural community
People of all ages and ethnicities come simply to enjoy the peace of the Ugandan countryside, the local culture, the fresh organic food, and to learn more about sustainable living. There are a number of ways you can experience life at Stone house farm, including self-guided tours, multi-day tours, Lusoga courses, custom made programs, and cultural exchanges. The Farm can also be used as a venue to host small groups.
There is always a colourful blend of locals, travelers, students, and volunteers sharing their experiences, skills and abilities. For many it is the experience of a lifetime!
