Camping in Our Village in Uganda

At Stone House Farm, we take great joy in hosting a diverse mix of guests from Uganda and beyond! Whether you’re a couple, a solo backpacker, a university class, a family, or part of a larger group, we have accommodations that cater to every budget and preference, including delightful camping options!

Come and spend some time with us, whether you choose to join our tours and workshops or simply explore on your own! There’s so much to discover in Iganga and Busu Village. You can take a relaxing stroll around the farm at your own pace or connect with our friendly team to learn about the incredible environment and all it has to offer. We also provide a variety of engaging programs that focus on Biodynamic Agriculture, Cultural Immersion, Ugandan music, Permaculture Design, and more.

For our camping guests, we have a spacious flat area on the front lawn where you can set up your tent and unwind. Feel free to explore the farm at your leisure or dive into the many activities and programs we offer. Don’t forget to check the links above for more information!

Just a friendly reminder: when camping, please bring your own tent and sleeping gear, like a mattress, bedding, and sleeping bag. We suggest arriving while it’s still light out to get everything set up comfortably.

Our campsite is a charming small-scale homestead farm nestled in the beautiful surroundings of Busu village in the Iganga District. Here, you’ll be surrounded by nature and get an up-close look at how things run on a small Ugandan village farm. We’re more than happy to show you around and answer any questions you might have. 

You’re welcome to camp with your tent, touring caravan, or motorhome in our homestead camping area.

Our camping site is open year-round, and we recommend reserving your spot early!

About our Campsite:

Our campsite is perfect for active campers, but it’s also a great spot for seniors and anyone looking to soak in the peaceful vibes of a Ugandan village. And guess what? You’re more than welcome to bring your furry friend along too! Just remember to keep them on a leash while they explore the field. We have space for tents as well as campers, so you can choose what suits you best. Don’t have your own camping gear? No worries at all! You can rent some of ours.

Camping Amenities and Features

Our campsite is a charming and cozy little village farm setup, and we’re excited to work with you to create the perfect experience! We have a handful of pitches available, each offering plenty of room for you to relax and unwind in peace.

While we’re completely off-grid, we provide solar electricity connections in our main house. Water is sourced from our roof into a tank or drawn from a nearby borehole.

You’ll also find a sanitary unit at the campsite, featuring a unisex traditional pit latrine, a urinal, and a cold shower.

How about spending a night in a cozy mud hut? 

And don’t miss our mud and grass-thatched house! This delightful space accommodates 2 to 4 people and comes with a barbecue, an open firewood stove, solar electricity, tank water, bedding, and towels.

  Just a heads-up, our toilets are pit latrines and some of our showers may be a bit chilly depending on the weather and local services. But don’t worry, we serve delicious breakfast, lunch, and dinner straight from our “farm to table” dining facilities.
